This link is old, there are others.  The Wimp Governor, Pete Wilson, attempted this almost identical lawsuit back in 1994 for the almost exact reason.  The Federal Courts refused to hear it; sovereign immunity and all that.  In the 19th century this sort of playing around with extending slavery and attempting to litigate the results in court is the catalyst that led to the Civil War, War Between the States, the War of Rebellion, or whatever.  The way to solve this problem is to have 3/4 of the states call for a constitutional convention….  What is really strange to me is the flopping fish out of water attitude the US Congress has about immigration.  With the health care legislation there is obviously mega bucks to be cut up, so where's the big money in immigration?

Migrant workers, industry moguls looking for cheap labor (they're in Mexico already), landscape hands for Hollywood stars and Nancy Reagan?  The population of Miami.  Somebody, please enlighten me here.

They got all of the Judges in their pockets.
